Best Bite This Week: Ponto

Ponto—once known as My Favorite Cake—has grown from a pick‑up‑only cake service into a full bakery and café, and it’s carving out a distinct identity as Portland’s first dedicated salt bread bakery. Turning out rich, buttery sogeum ppang made with premium butter and bringing this beloved Korean staple into the local spotlight.

We tried their Original, Green Onion Bacon Cream Cheese, and Cinnamon and Sugar Salt Bread (not pictured). For drinks, we tried their House Made Cold Brew and Yuzu Sparkling.

I traveled to Korea earlier this year and I have to say, these salt breads are exactly (if not even better) then the one’s I tried overseas. They wwere not only crispy, fresh, and flavorful, but I can tell the team behind it actually enjoy what they are making. Be sure to visit next time you are in the This spot is a solid 10/10.
